STARTING THE 2021 SEASON

To say everything is always great when farming is to tell a lie. Farming is hard work, expensive and very time consuming. Besides the stresses of planting, timing etc there is Mother nature. This season so far we have experienced extreme high winds, cold damaging frosts and draught which we are still battling despite a bit of rain we received.

So how do we start with all this happening. Well we start by planting our cool weather crops first and covering them. With the hopes that the frost covers protect and the high winds don’t rip them off. (it has happened). All you can do is wait and see it all the hard work pays off.

Right now so far we have growing and in the ground Radishes, several varieties of lettuce, swiss chard, Spinach, bunching onions, onions, beans, peas, carrots, beets, potatoes and herbs.

More to come…..
