Farming and coffee roasting are two distinct yet complementary crafts that form the backbone of J & A Farms. Farming involves cultivating the land to grow fresh vegetables, which requires knowledge of soil health, crop rotation, and sustainable practices to ensure quality produce. Our location in the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead, near Beausejour, Manitoba, provides the ideal conditions for growing a variety of vegetables that we offer direct off the farm and at local markets such as Lac du Bonnet.

Coffee roasting, on the other hand, transforms green coffee beans into the aromatic and flavorful coffee enjoyed by many. This process requires precision and expertise, as controlling the roast profile affects the beans’ taste, aroma, and overall quality. At Barnwood coffee, we carefully roast coffee to bring out the best characteristics of each batch, providing customers with a freshly roasted product that complements our farm-fresh vegetables. Together, farming and coffee roasting represent our commitment to quality, freshness, and ecologically grown produce.
